Description

Also, you learn Italian through storytelling as well: during the lessons, you co-create stories with your teacher and fellow students: language acquisition is more efficient in this way… and you have fun!

LESSONS IN CLASS

The Italian lessons are in person in Hoofddorp (The Netherlands) at Talenmeester. There are several groups and levels:

☛ On Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45 - 8:00 pm and 8:15 - 9:30 pm

This A1 Italian course is designed for complete beginners and for anyone who knows a few words of Italian but would like to build a solid foundation in the language.

From the very beginning, you will learn how to communicate in everyday situations: introducing yourself, talking about your job and interests, ordering food and drinks, checking into a hotel, asking for information, and navigating simple interactions while travelling in Italy.

A practical approach to building your Italian skills

Lessons combine practical communication with vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, and essential grammar, helping you develop all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Discover Italian language and culture together

Alongside the language, you will discover aspects of Italian culture, daily life, customs, and ways of communicating, gaining a deeper understanding of Italy beyond the usual stereotypes.

Learn Italian comfortably with multilingual support

Classes are taught by Nomad Teacher_Giovanna, a qualified native Italian teacher with extensive experience teaching adult learners. Italian is the main language used during the lessons, allowing you to become familiar with the language naturally from the very beginning.

Don't worry if this sounds intimidating: support can be provided in English, Dutch, Spanish, and other languages whenever needed, ensuring that everyone can learn with confidence.

This Italian course for beginners (A1.1) is designed for anyone who wants to start learning Italian from scratch or strengthen a basic knowledge of the language.

From the very first lesson, you will start using Italian in meaningful contexts. Through stories, dialogues, and interactive activities, you will learn how to introduce yourself, talk about where you come from, your nationality, your job, and your interests, and ask simple questions to get to know other people. By learning through communication and storytelling, you will build confidence and develop practical language skills from the very beginning. These are essential skills for anyone who wants to travel in Italy and connect with people in everyday situations.

Why learn Italian through storytelling?

What makes this course different is the combination of a communicative approach and storytelling. Stories are one of the most natural ways to learn a language. They help you remember vocabulary, grammar, and expressions more effectively because new language is presented in context rather than as isolated words or rules.

Through stories, dialogues, and cultural themes, you will improve your listening, speaking, and comprehension skills while enjoying a richer and more engaging learning experience.

How we support you while learning Italian

This course is designed for complete beginners, including international learners and Dutch-speaking participants. It is taught primarily in Italian by Nomad Teacher_Giovanna, a qualified native Italian teacher with extensive experience teaching adult learners.

Although Italian is the main language used during the lessons, Giovanna speaks several languages and can provide support and explanations in English, Dutch or other languages when needed. This allows beginners to feel comfortable while gradually building confidence in using Italian.

From the very beginning, we encourage you to actively use Italian in a supportive and encouraging environment. The goal is not to translate every word, but to help you communicate confidently in Italian and start speaking from day one.

ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE WORKSHOP

Join us for a fun and engaging workshop where you’ll dive into the world of the Festival di Sanremo, Italy’s most famous and beloved song contest. Through readings, listenings, quizzes, and games, you’ll discover why Sanremo is much more than a music festival and why it plays such an important role in Italian culture, language, and society.

You’ll learn about iconic songs and singers, typical expressions used during the festival, and the traditions, rituals, and debates that surround this unique event—all while improving your Italian language skills. Everything will be explained in a clear and accessible way, with vocabulary that’s especially useful for talking about music, opinions, and pop culture in Italian.

The workshop is open to anyone with a curious mind! Whether you already watch Sanremo every year or have only heard about it, there’s always something new to discover. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in contemporary Italian culture and a perfect complement to any Italian language course you’re already taking.

And to end the workshop in true Sanremo style, in the final part you’ll have the chance to comment like a real Italian viewer: express opinions, agree or disagree, and react to performances just as Italians do during the festival.

Join us for a fun and engaging workshop where you'll dive into the ritual of the Italian aperitivo. Through readings, listenings, quizzes, and games, you’ll learn all about this essential Italian tradition while improving your Italian language skills. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the ritual of enjoying drinks and snacks with friends in true Italian style!

Everything you’ll learn in the workshop will be easy to understand, and I’ll make sure to use vocabulary that’s super useful for enjoying your own aperitivo experience in Italy.

The workshop is open to anyone with a curious mind! Whether you're new to the concept or already love a good aperitivo, there’s always something new to discover. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in Italian culture and language, and a perfect complement to any language course you’re already taking.

And to wrap things up in the best way possible, in the final part of the workshop, you’ll have the chance to create your very own aperitivo—and then, of course, enjoy it!

Description

In this course, we start from scratch with the Italian language and culture. You will get useful tools to communicate in real-life situations: introducing yourself, talking about your job, ordering at the bar, checking-in in a hotel. You will be engaged in a variety of activities to stimulate spontaneous participation and interaction and allow you to practice all language skills [listening, speaking, reading, and writing] while practising pronunciation, learning new words, and basic grammar structures [the verbs, the nouns, the articles].

This course is suitable for you if:

☛ you have never studied Italian or you know some words and sentences;

☛ you want to be able to communicate in holiday situations in Italy;

☛ you are not afraid of accepting the challenge of learning a new language and you approach it with enthusiasm and dedication;

Description

In this course, we complete level A1: we talk about family and health. You’ll get useful tools to communicate in real-life situations. You will be engaged in a variety of activities to stimulate spontaneous participation and interaction and allow you to practice all language skills [listening, speaking, reading, and writing] while practising pronunciation, learning new words, and new grammar structures [verbs in presente and passato prossimo, aggettivi possessivi, etc.].

This course is suitable for you if:

☛ you have attended the first three parts of this course;

☛ you haven’t completed other A1 level courses;

☛ you have already completed level A1 some time ago and want to revise some vocabulary and grammar topics before moving forward;

☛ you want to be able to communicate in holiday situations in Italy;

☛ you have time to spend on homework to consolidate what you have learned in class and to prepare for the next lesson.
