Nomad Teachers Giovanna has joined the teaching adventure of two innovative language schools in the Netherlands: you can find her in class at Talenmeester (Hoofddorp) and Taaltijd (Voorburg).
The motto of these nice language schools is learn a language without grammar. But what does it mean? Is that really possible or is it just a dream of every student?
learning Italian WITH Comprehensible input and STORYTELLING
You will not find textbooks at these schools. The philosophy is that you learn a language by hearing it a lot and especially by being able to understand it first. Then speaking comes naturally. You have already proven that this works: you have learned to understand and speak your native language by listening and certainly not by completing fill-in exercises in your workbook.
The teacher speaks the whole lesson in Italian and she makes sure you understand everything. Indeed at these two schools, you learn Italian with CI method: comprehensible input. You don't have to take notes because thanks to the repetitions offered during the lessons, you are going to remember everything much easier. And when the teacher asks you a question, you know how to answer it perfectly in Italian! So from lesson 1 you understand and speak Italian! Fantastico, no?
Also, together with the group you create stories in Italian: relax and let your imagination join the lesson! You can then read the story without difficulty and you can talk about it... in Italian of course!

TAILORED ITALIAN LESSONS
If the fixed time of group courses does not combine well with your schedule or daily routine, you probably would enjoy more flexibility. Or perhaps you go as fast as a train (Italian saying = you learn very fast) and a group course is not challenging enough for you. You should then consider individual lessons or duo, with a friend or a family member. You can learn Italian at your own pace and we can decide together the best day for you to learn Italian.
