Tailored Language & Culture Classes

Learn face-to-face or online

We offer a wide range of possibilities on where and how to deliver our classes. We can arrange face-to-face lessons at yours or at ours if you are based in Haarlem or in Amsterdam. You can also learn comfortably online at any place as long as you have a good Internet connection, a quiet space, and a computer (smartphones and tablets have some limitations for our kind of lessons). Our online live sessions are delivered via Zoom and require just basic computer knowledge and general digital skills.

Learn at the right time for you

You can choose what suits you best among our offer of individual or duo lessons, groups, or in-company courses. Groups courses have fixed days, time, and length, but if you choose individual, duo, or in-company lessons we will find together the right time for you based on your preferences and our availability. We will agree on the length of your course as well: the recommended minimum frequency for a course is once a week and the recommended minimum amount of hours to set and achieve your learning aims is between 25 and 40 per level.

What to expect from us

The atmosphere in our classes is relaxed, we are very patient teachers and we are language students ourselves (Giovanna learns Dutch and Peter learns Italian and Spanish), we know how you feel. In every lesson, we give you the language support you need to understand and to make you feel comfortable in speaking a foreign language since lesson one. Making mistakes is not a problem, it’s a learning process!

We thoroughly plan our lessons to offer you the right mix of clear language aims, cultural aspects, and entertainment. Our teaching materials are selected among innovative course books meant for adult learners according to the principles of the communicative approach.

In a typical lesson, whether it is in an online or physical classroom, we introduce a language topic (e.g. a set of vocabulary, a real-life situation, a grammar item) in a real-life context, through a wide variety of innovative and interactive activities, through adapted but yet authentic texts and audio. This phase is followed by speaking or writing tasks, allowing for the consolidation of the newly obtained language and the development of general speaking skills.

What to expect from you

It is important to keep your commitment to Italian constant in order to achieve results. You should consider at least one lesson and two or three hours of individual study per week. After each class, you will be assigned some homework. Learning languages can be challenging, but if you approach it with an open mind, curiosity, and active participation, it can be a lot of fun, and we will always guide you with big smiles.
